The conflict between materialism and idealism has been going on for thousands of years. It has,in some sense,become an eternal issue which most probably would never be solved by human beings.
Being a Chinese,we've been heavily loaded with teachings of Marxism and Leninism,yet its frequent failure to explain some real life experiences has led me to reconsider the respect we used to give to materialism.
It is hardly necessary for me to cite all the evidence to show that supernatural phenomena are happening all round us.So many people's extraordinarily similar experience seems to indicate for sure that there is,indeed,something beyond the material that exists in this world, whether it be ghost or spirit, or even something beyond our imagination.
Oddly enough, I have never seen a book or even an article dealing with these issues seriously,ghost stories are only created and exaggerated for amusement, maybe those "scientists" are still not ready to confront these things.
It's also startling that while the whole world is advancing into the Information Age, approximately 60 percent of the earth's total population practice religion,that is to say,they believe in God who is supposed to control everything on this planet, including your destiny.
I have some Christian friends myself, they are very nice. I still remember when I first met wang, my first Christan friend, I was very surprised by the way he perceives this world.
when we praised the beauty of some flowers, he complimented God on his magic power to create them;
when I told him I was glad to know him, he replied by thanking God for arranging our acquaintance;
when we had dinner together, he prayed devoutly for the food which he believes is given by God.
......
I read the Bible very earnestly for some time. The book claims to transmit the messages of God. Unfortunately those ancient,exquisite,powerful messages are really beyond me, probably because, as one Christan said, I didn't put my heart in it, in other words, I did not read it with God in my heart.
What's the conclusion ? well, no one has the answer, nor do I intend to reach one,but I'd like to suggest that we go back for thousands of years to the time of confusian and seriously reevaluate this idea: The world is actually dominated by two parallel forces; material and spirit.
