Keys? Kiss?

    A friend of mine was giving an English lesson to a class of adult who had recently come to live in the United States. After placing quite a number of everyday objects on a table, he asked various members of the class to give him the ruler, the book, the pen and so on.

    The class went very smoothly and the students seemed interested and serious about the work that they were engaged in until when my friend turned to an Italian student and said, "Give me the kays." The man looked surprised and somewhat at a loss.

    Seeing this, my friend thought that the student hadn't heard him clearly, so he repeated. "Give me the kays." The Italian shrugged his shoulders. Then, he threw his arms around the teacher's neck and kissed him on both cheeks.

    我的一位最近去美国定居的朋友去成人学校教授英语课程。几天之后，他问每个同班同学请教语法、借课本、笔以及其他的东西。

    课程像往常一样进行着，并且学生们似乎对课程已经有了兴趣并且认真的从事起来直到我的朋友向一位意大利的同学问道：“给我kays”那个同学很吃惊好象被什么东西噎着了似的。

    看到那位同学的反应，我的朋友一位他的同学没有听懂他的意思，所以他又说道：“给我kays”。那个意大利同学耸耸肩，然后，他把手搭在老师的脖子上然后在他左右脸颊上各亲了一下。
